This is the 2nd mead in our barrel aged series, and it's our first "officially" sweet mead. We started this delight with 2023 Lazy Z Estate Wildflower honey from our bees at the ranch, as well as maple blossom honey from Eugene, and then fermented it on carbonically-macerated wine grapes from a small vineyard near Smith Rock and purple plums from Bend. Once that was pressed, we added it to the same Crater Lake Spirits gin barrel that gave us High Desert Rain Storm (…and if you had it before it sold out, our amigos at Funky Fauna used this barrel to age our 2024 collab beer, “Flourescent Bee”). We think the results are really stunning, and hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
